"Hey, What's your sign?"
...Ha, What a joke!
I mean, really, how much can astrology tell you about who you are?
Hi, I'm Dawn, and it is my mission to share how effective this practice can be in revealing the infinite nature of your being--from the deepest desires lying dormant in your shadow to the highest purpose illuminated by your unique radiance.
the guiding light in the darkest night
Like many, I felt lost. Again and again I sought help for feelings of despondency, a plea whose response always began with the same question:
"What do you want?"
The answer was inside me--they said it, and I knew it...so why could I not find it? I was ungrounded, unsure of where I was, or in what direction my actions were leading me. My questions were so vast that I was at a loss even to articulate them properly. After years of seeking, it seemed there wasn't a healing mentor or modality that could help get my soul oriented within my body in the way I was needing.
Tormented by these questions, anxiety would often awaken me before the dawn. Unable to sleep and too restless to remain in bed, it became my habit to walk down to the waters edge and wait to watch the sunrise. I am lucky to live on the north shore of a vast lake, which affords an uninterrupted expanse of southern sky.
Over the seasons, I began to identify the shifting constellations and recognize the errant movements of the planets across the fixed stars. As a deep, visceral understanding of our Earth's place within the solar system arose within me, and so too did an unfamiliar confidence informed by a primal consciousness.
This confidence felt good. And I knew, if nothing else, that I wanted a deeper experience of this very feeling. Astrology had long been a topic of interest for me, and I pursued it now in greater zeal, eager to better understand the psychological theories behind stellar observation. Three key exercises --stargazing, creating my natal chart, and studying myself through its symbolism--formed the pillars of a practice that engaged and aligned my body, mind, and spirit.
Astrology has given me a holistic perspective of how different architectures of energy influence our consciousness across space and time. Knowing where I am and how I came to be here has given me insight as to what gifts I possess and how I may activate them moving forward in my life. As a yoga instructor of several years, I already had developed a concrete understanding of how energy flows through the body, and the intimate connection between that movement and the direction of one's conscious awareness. Through Astrology, I learned to put this experience in a universal context.
who you are is mirrored in the stars
This is my story, but it is yours too. Through the archetypes of Astrology, humanity has created a unique tool for expanding perspective to put our personal problems in a universal context. Never without guidance, we are united by a collective consciousness that is informed by light. Centered in our own radiance, each of us may source an infinite wellspring of awareness and compassion.
The archetypal wheel of Astrology depicts the mythic journey of the individual. By using it as a cyclical blueprint, we may better navigate the glories and pitfalls that are part of our existence on Earth. Let me share with you how to read the stars both in the sky and in your chart, and together we will illuminate your inner temple. Learn to live luminously, and lead with your brilliance!
